Deer killed by big cat in Sussex

Posted on January 15, 2012 at 9:35 AM

A deer was killed by a big cat near Petworth in West Sussex a while back or at least that was the conclusion that i arrived at after examining the evidence. The pictures have been posted on the evidence page no.s 39 & 40 which support these findings.Although the carcase was not fresh when i looked at it the surrounding area showed that the cause of death was most likely to of been  by aphyxiation rather than simply scavengers coming across a roe carcase.I have posted this fresh data that has not been made public in this way before in order to explain how carcases like deer can be thought of as being big cat kills even though the actual carcase itself may hold no clues to this at first inspection. It is in response to the recent DNA testing of roe deer carcases believed to of been big cat kills found in Gloucestershire this past week......
